[5] SANmelody will operate on disk servers that have more CPUs than shown under each Category column. For example, SANmelody Category A and B software will run on multi-processor systems. However, the maximum number of CPUs that SANmelody will take advantage of is governed by the license parameters established for each Category. In the case of Category A and B, only one CPU in a multi-processing disk server will be used to execute the SANmelody code. Category C enables two of the multi-processor CPUs to concurrently execute the SANmelody code increasing the potential I/O throughput of the disk server. Category D provides for concurrent execution across 4 CPUs. |
