SANmelody™ will operate on disk servers that have more ports than shown under each Category column. However, the maximum number of front-end ports that SANmelody will take advantage of is governed by the license parameters established for each Category.

For example, the Category A software will run on a disk server with 5 Ethernet ports, but will use only 2 ports to serve disk space to networked hosts. As you go from Category A to Categories B, C and D, the respective software licenses enable more front-end ports to be used concurrently, thereby enhancing the potential I/O throughput of the disk server.
