DataCore Opens New Sales Office in Taiwan
Market Demand in Asia Pacific Drives Expansion
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 18, 2003) DataCore Software, a leading provider of enterprise-class, open-storage networking software, today announced the formal opening of a new office in Taiwan. Increased business opportunities for the company's SANsymphony software in Taiwan and neighboring countries prompted the expansion. Jesse Liu has been appointed to run DataCore's operations as business manager for the greater China region.
DataCore's recent world record in storage price/performance and the growing user interest in breakthrough capabilities, such as auto-provisioning and iSCSI, have well positioned DataCore for expansion. DataCore has set up the Taiwan office to provide technical support, sales, marketing, training and education for the greater China region. To assist with the business opportunities, Stark and Kinmax, two IT distributors in Taiwan, have joined DataCore's SANvantageSM Partner Program.
"Our customers have been implementing SANs at an unprecedented rate. Those same customers are now asking how they can better manage their storage without incurring additional hardware costs," said Jack Yang with Stark. "SANsymphony from DataCore is the answer."
"Chinese businesses are taking advantage of DataCore's storage networking technologies to improve the return on investment and productivity of storage assets," said Jesse Liu, DataCore's business manager. "The storage market has hit a peak in its lifecycle, and at this point, we are looking at a new paradigm for storage. Customers are no longer locked into proprietary solutions. DataCore provides a total and heterogeneous storage solution to our customers."
As Business Manager based in Taiwan, Liu's first challenge was to establish a business model for China and East Asia. Liu has been tasked with driving channel and end user programs for China to gain awareness through various marketing programs. He was previously involved in enterprise software sales for eight years previous with Arbor Software (Hyperion Software) and Legato Software. Liu established the Legato office in Taiwan and was instrumental in significantly increasing sales in this region.
"DataCore is a globally focused company whose technology is in demand worldwide. Opening an office dedicated to China was the next step in expansion for DataCore from a global perspective," said Peter Thompson, managing director, Asia Pacific for DataCore. "Jesse Liu's goal is to identify the appropriate partners in the region and evangelize our message of truly open storage and total management control. We are targeting DataCore to be the leading player in China, gaining a top share of the preeminent storage management market."
The office is located at 23F, 105 Tun Hwa S. Rd. Sec 2 in Taipei 106, Taiwan and can be reached at +886 (2) 2784 1626 or +886 (2) 2702 5050 (fax) or via the web at http://taiwan.datacore.com.
