NEC Soft to OEM DataCore's Advanced Storage Management Technology

Pact Targets Enterprise Storage Consolidation, Provisioning and Replication

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 20, 2003) — DataCore Software, a leading provider of enterprise-class, open-storage networking software, today announced the company has entered into an OEM agreement with NEC Soft, Ltd. Under the accord, NEC Soft will incorporate DataCore's SANsymphony™ technology into its rich software portfolio to address large-scale storage consolidation, auto-provisioning and replication.

NEC's customers are expressing pent up demand for enterprise-wide open storage management to cope with the growing complexity and cost of their IT infrastructure. In particular, they cite SANsymphony's just-in-time capacity allocation and SAN-wide turbo-charging facilities as being key to concentrating the control of storage resources in the network. Those advanced functions as well as intuitive drag-and-drop administration, cross-array snapshots, device-independent synchronous and asynchronous mirroring are completely offloaded to redundant Windows-based NEC storage domain servers in the core of the SAN. As a result, DataCore's comprehensive platform enables NEC Soft to provide total solution services including system consulting, design, implementation, non-disruptive upgrades and support -- in an integrated package.
