Wasatch Mutual Fund Boosts Storage Capacity Utilization and Performance with DataCore Software

Financial Advisor and Fund Management Company Also Eliminates Downtime and Implements Affordable Disaster Recovery with SANsymphony™

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. Three key business issues, common to IT practices in the financial sector, drove the need for overhauling their storage management approach. Inefficient disk utilization in a direct-attached storage environment meant that just 27 percent of the available disk space was being effectively used, forcing them to buy much more storage than required. Second, a recent implementation of compliance-checking software on their equity trading servers seriously slowed response time, posing employee productivity and timeliness issues. Lastly, the cost to protect data by replicating it through conventional means to a remote site in compliance with SEC regulations and sound disaster recovery practices had proven unaffordable.
