DeTeLine Implements DataCore's SANsymphony™

European Telco Joins Growing Ranks of DataCore Customers

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., (April 24, 2002) — DataCore Software, the leading provider of storage virtualization and networking software, today announced that, DeTeLine, a European telecommunications company and provider of enterprise network solutions for business, carriers and service providers, has implemented DataCore's SANsymphony storage virtualization platform.

The immediate business benefits for DeTeLine include a centralized storage pool with advanced data backup and restore functions, combined with automated storage management. The software-based solution delivers a high return on investment (ROI) by optimizing network storage capacity and personnel resources. In addition, SANsymphony software, considered the de facto standard in innovative virtualization technology, significantly lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO) of company-wide storage area networks (SAN).

DataCore's SANsymphony has enabled DeTeLine to consolidate its storage resources while significantly enhancing the effectiveness of its storage utilization. Prior to the deployment of SANsymphony, only one terabyte of the company's storage capacity, out of a potentially available total of four terabytes, was being effectively used. Instead, the company purchased additional capacity and accumulated substantial administrative expenses to accommodate the growing demand for individual applications.

DeTeLine uses two SANsymphony storage domain servers within its storage area network with Brocade switches and CMD Titan Disk Arrays. As a company-wide virtualization platform, SANsymphony makes it possible to manage and allocate storage network resources with drag-and-drop ease. The advantages of DeTeLine's deployment of SANsymphony extend far beyond the virtual storage volumes that it creates to the added functions of snapshot, alternate pathing and mirroring available in the SAN. Through more effective use of its available resources, DeTeLine has been able to free up a RAID system from ongoing operations and use it for remote-site backup with the data mirroring function (net mirroring).
