DataCore Appoints George P. Scanlon as CFO
Former CFO for Seisint and Senior VP Planning and Controller for Ryder System
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 15, 2002) DataCore Software, the leading provider of storage virtualization and networking software, announced today the appointment of George P. Scanlon as the company's chief financial officer. As a skilled financial executive, Scanlon is recognized for his expertise in strategic decision-making, planning, acquisition, divestiture and capital expenditure analysis and cost control.
"George brings over 20 years of senior-level financial experience to DataCore. He has led important corporate initiatives managing multi-billion dollar capital expenditures, developed and implemented standard accounting policies and managed investor relations and public disclosures," said George Teixeira, president and chief executive officer of DataCore Software. With finance experience working for both public and private companies, Scanlon began his career in public accounting with Price Waterhouse and joined the finance group at Ryder System in 1982. Through his 18 years with Ryder, he worked his way up through a variety of financial positions to senior vice president of planning and controller where he was responsible for all financial reporting and the analysis of significant corporate initiatives. His most recent position was with Seisint as chief financial officer where he raised debt and equity capital and established financial reporting processes. Scanlon holds an MBA in finance from University of Miami and a BBA in accounting from University of Notre Dame.
