DataCore Software Hosts Live Web Cast on searchStorage.com
Interactive Session Will Introduce Innovative Disaster Recovery Technology
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 16, 2001) - DataCore™ Software will host a live searchStorage.com Web cast today on its latest Disaster Recovery offering for network storage pools. The Asynchronous IP Mirroring (AIM) technology is the first of its kind, allowing companies to cost-effectively mirror disks from virtualized storage pools over IP-based wide-area networks (WANs). Nik Simpson, product marketing manager, will lead the program, which will consist of an educational presentation followed by an interactive Q&A.
In the session, Mr. Simpson will explore the benefits of AIM in any company's multi-campus storage infrastructure. Participants will learn:
- The fundamental differences between synchronous and asynchronous mirroring techniques
- What distinguishes DataCore's revolutionary AIM implementation from traditional asynchronous mirroring techniques
- How AIM can simplify storage management, and provide a proven disaster-recovery strategy
The technology, available as a separately licensable option to DataCore's recently debuted SANsymphony™ 4.0 storage virtualization software, allows a company to leverage its native IP connections to replicate critical data over indefinitely long distances. This gives companies new flexibility for affordable, non-disruptive remote storage management and disaster recovery.
Mr. Simpson, who has been with DataCore since 1999, taps more than 17 years of hands-on networking, storage and telecommunications product experience with Intergraph Corp. and AT&T Bell Labs Network Systems Group. At DataCore, he works closely with customers and engineers to drive the enhanced features and functionality of new product releases.

About the Company
DataCore™ Software Corporation is the leader in storage virtualization and networking software. The company's SANsymphony™ storage infrastructure software converts 'islands' of disparate storage into networked storage pools, enabling the easy allocation of storage capacity on an as-needed basis, using a simple 'drag-and-drop' interface. Now administrators can move these 'virtual' volumes among different servers - regardless of the underlying operating system. DataCore distributes its software products through channel and OEM partners worldwide. Founded in 1998 by some of the industry's most respected storage technologists, DataCore is headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., with subsidiaries and branch offices worldwide. For more information, call (877) 780-5111 or visit www.datacore.com.
