INRANGE and DataCore Team to Simplify Enterprise Storage Area Network Growth and Management

INRANGE Joins DataCore's SANvantage Technical Partner Program

(LUMBERTON, NJ, MAY 14, 2001) - INRANGE Technologies (Nasdaq: INRG), a leader in scalable storage networking solutions, announced today that its IN-VSN™ FC/9000™ Fibre Channel Director has been certified by DataCore™ Software Corporation to operate in Storage Area Networks (SAN) with DataCore's SANsymphony™ storage virtualization software.

The industry's most scalable technology for building high availability SANs, the FC/9000 is the only director-class switching solution that can expand from 24 ports to 128 ports, giving users a high-performance networking infrastructure that makes SAN management and growth easier. DataCore's SANsymphony management application supports "storage virtualization" -- technology that helps users to make the best use of storage assets by pooling devices such as disk drives and allocating their use via software across servers, regardless of platform, as needed.

"With the demand for storage doubling each year, users require highly scalable solutions that can help them to sustain growth and manage more capacity with existing resources," said INRANGE EVP and CTO Charles Foley. "SANs built on the FC/9000's Extensible Core Architecture (XCA) and that support powerful virtualization tools such as SANsymphony can deliver common access to all data, at any time, while making storage expansion and resource management easier and far more cost-effective."

The companies also announced that INRANGE has joined DataCore's SANvantage™ Technical Partner Program, which brings together industry leaders focused on delivering interoperable, open systems SAN technology to joint customers. As a result of joining DataCore's SANvantage Technical Partner Program, INRANGE's Professional Services Group -- a global organization of more than 450 direct sales and service professionals, systems engineers, and high-level systems architects -- can offer SANsymphony as part of a comprehensive solution to customers building truly open, enterprise SANs.

"Working with INRANGE provides our joint customers with scalable, centrally managed solutions that deliver unparalleled return on investments both in their storage networking and human resources infrastructures," said Ken Horner, Vice President of Marketing, DataCore. "Network storage pooling continues to grow in popularity as a viable consolidation alternative for effectively managing the data requirements of rapidly growing organizations."
