DataCore Enrolls SAN Valley Systems Into Its SANvantage Technical Partner Program IP-SAN Gateway Extends Network Storage Pools Over IP Infrastructures FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. and CAMPBELL, Calif., (May 9, 2001) - DataCore™ Software, the leading provider of storage virtualization and networking software, today announced the addition of SAN Valley Systems™ to the DataCore SANvantage™ Technical Partner Program. Through the alliance with SAN Valley, 'Powered by DataCore' storage network pools can be connected over an IP-based infrastructure, extending the powerful, integrated storage consolidation services across metropolitan and wide area networks (MAN/WAN). The SAN Valley SL1000 provides high throughput Fibre Channel to Internet Protocol (FCIP) encapsulation supporting SAN connectivity for wire speed transmission of storage data across metropolitan and wide area networks. The combination, for example, allows DataCore's native remote mirroring options to operate over substantially longer distances than Fibre Channel alone allows. In this way, the SL1000 permits pooled storage assets to be easily allocated and accessed exactly when and where they are needed.
