FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ATTO N+I Booth # 2874 DataCore N+I Booth # 775 DataCore Qualifies ATTO Fibre Channel HBAs to Power its SANsymphony Storage Virtualization Nodes Amherst, NY and Ft. Lauderdale, FL - May 8, 2001 - ATTO Technology and DataCore™ Software Corporation announce that ATTO ExpressPCI FCSW host bus adapters (HBAs) have been qualified for use on 'Powered by DataCore' storage virtualization nodes. Through intensive testing and ongoing collaboration as part of DataCore's SANvantage™ Technical Partner Program, ATTO and DataCore ensure the use of these Fibre Channel host bus adapters as target and initiator ports for SANsymphony™-managed network storage pools. These HBAs will be on display in ATTO's N+I 2001 Booth, #2874. DataCore's field-proven cross-platform storage virtualization software, SANsymphony, consolidates and simplifies storage-related tasks. Customers can add, upgrade, reassign and replicate disks from a secure centralized GUI without rebooting and realize remarkable flexibility, availability and ROI from pooled capacity, while reducing acquisition and operational costs. DataCore's SANvantage Technical Partner Program is designed to bring together industry leaders, like ATTO, who support delivering interoperable, open systems, SAN technology to joint customers. The ATTO ExpressPCI FSCW enables PCI-to-Fibre Channel interconnect while maximizing productivity in workgroup and enterprise-level SAN environments. The ATTO ExpressPCI FCSW utilizes an embedded Short Wave Laser Interface, capable of streaming data over cable lengths of up to 500 meters. The adapter features full duplex 1.0625-Gigabit data-transfer rates, Class 2 and F-Port support, 64/32-bit PCI bus interface and 66/33 MHz compatibility. By integrating ATTO ExpressPCI HBAs into SANsymphony storage virtualization nodes, substantial improvements in I/O rates translate into greater accessibility and availability of data.
