DataCore Software Expands in the U.S.
Establishes SAN Customer Center in Silicon Valley to
Support Growing Demand for Storage Networks
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Oct. 4, 2000) - DataCore Software™ Corporation, an innovator in storage networking software, today announced that it has further expanded its presence in the U.S., with a new customer center in the heart of Silicon Valley.
The new center, dedicated to sales, customer service and training, expands DataCore Software's ability to help customers and partners quickly gain the skills they need to maximize the benefits of DataCore Software's SANsymphony for storage network management, regionally and nationwide. The facility will provide a full range of professional and consulting services, including training services, a state-of-art demo center, SAN assessment tools and SAN administration courses. It will also offer a technical services unit with fully trained support and training engineers on call 24 hours a day.
"The Silicon Valley is filled with companies in e-commerce, application hosting and large scale operations who are struggling with the challenges of managing the dramatic growth of data storage," said George Teixeira, president and chief executive officer of DataCore Software. "Our new operation will provide world-class support, a critical element required to meet the demanding needs of storage customers."
Cindy Sauln, DataCore's vice president of customer programs and services, will run the day- to-day operations of the center. Sauln joined DataCore in 1999, after having served at DEC and VERITAS Software in executive roles.
"We are committed to helping our customers make the most of the SAN," said Sauln. "The training and certification that we will offer in our Silicon Valley center are designed to ensure that our customers have the tools and techniques to speed the time from implementation to use and deliver a fast ROI."
The center is located at 2880 Lakeside Drive, Suite 116, Santa Clara, Calif. and can be reached by phone at (408) 350-1583.
DataCore Solution Meets Growing Demand for SAN Management and Control
The expansion into California represents continued growth for DataCore, which just launched its SANsymphony product in May 2000. Since then, DataCore has added SAN expertise by direct hires and acquisition, established international operations in the UK, France, Germany, Canada and Japan, and raised $35 million in second-round funding.
SANsymphony storage networking software is the first available solution to consolidate, and organize previously dedicated disk arrays into a manageable network storage pool and provide storage pool access to Windows, Unix, NetWare and Linux-based application servers over a SAN. The SANsymphony approach simplifies management, increases productivity and protects users' existing investments by pooling and sharing the existing storage assets.
About the Company
DataCore Software™ Corporation is an innovator in storage networking software. The Company's SANsymphony™ storage domain server software converts `islands' of disparate storage into a single networked storage pool, enabling the easy allocation of storage capacity on an as-needed basis, using a simple `drag-and-drop' interface. Now administrators can move these `virtual' volumes among different servers - regardless of operating system running on the servers. DataCore distributes its software product through channel and OEM partners worldwide. Founded in 1998 by some of the industry's most respected storage technologists, DataCore is headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., with branch offices in California, North Carolina, and throughout Europe. For more information, call 877.780.5111 or visit www.datacore.com.
