Local Entrepreneur Chosen as 'Technology Diplomat' at Trans-Atlantic Conference

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 5, 2000) - Ziya Aral, chairman and co-founder of DataCore Software, a leading innovator in storage networking software recently distinguished as one of Digitalsouth Magazine's top 50 pre-IPO companies to watch in 2000, will participate in an international business technology summit being held today and Thursday in the U.K.

The conference, co-hosted by Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, Secretary of State and Industry, Stephen Byers and U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James, Philip Lader, will address how emerging technologies and entrepreneurial spirit can drive new business opportunities to extend employment and wealth creation in the U.K.

Major entrepreneurs, financiers and innovators from the U.S. and U.K. will meet and attend presentations from some of the best-known names in technology, media and government. NASDAQ chairman Frank Zarb, Internet guru Esther Dyson, CitiGroup chairman Deryck Maughan, syndicated columnist Jane Applegate, Rich Karlgaard, publisher of Forbes Magazine, Scientific Atlanta's founder Sidney Topol, and former White House e-commerce advisor Ira Magaziner are among those expected to speak at London's historic Lancaster House.

"There is a shared recognition - in all regions of the world - of the importance of technology as a cornerstone of economic success," said Aral. "We are very pleased to have been selected to share our own experiences and ideas towards the common goal of success in the global marketplace."

DataCore's Aral will join an influential panel with representatives from London Bridge Software, Gateway Computer and AT&T Labs. The panel, moderated by Dell Computer Corporation chairman Kevin Rollins, will discuss recent advances in information technology, computers and software.
